Stemwise Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to Stemwise on Android and iOS, including beta versions, and its supporting website. It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the app.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: Your email address and authentication identifiers needed to sign in and secure your account. If a sign-in provider shares a profile image with us, it may be displayed in-app. We do not intentionally store your name as part of account signup.
• Guest access and security data: Anonymous authentication identifiers, app integrity signals, and limited network information such as IP address may be used to protect the scanner from abuse, rate-limit requests, and keep the service reliable.
• Plant and tracker data: Plant names, nicknames, notes, tags, diary entries, timestamps, health summaries, and other plant-tracking information you choose to save.
• Images you upload: Plant photos used for scans, diagnosis, and plant progress tracking. When you request AI analysis, the photo and related information you submit are sent to Google Cloud / Gemini services to generate a response.
• Location you provide: A place or coordinates you choose to enter for location-based features. Place searches are sent to Open-Meteo to find matching locations.
• Advertising data: Where ads are enabled, Google AdMob may process device identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, ad interactions, and diagnostics to deliver ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud, subject to applicable consent choices.
• Usage and technical data: Basic app interaction, diagnostics, and service logs needed to operate, troubleshoot, and improve the app.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide plant scans, plant-health analysis, and follow-up care guidance.
• Save your plant tracker history and diary progress inside your account.
• Operate guest scanning, rate limits, fraud prevention, and service security.
• Support account features such as sign-in, sync, and account deletion.
• Maintain, debug, and improve app performance and reliability.
• Provide and measure ad-supported features, subject to applicable consent choices.

4. How Your Data Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only with service providers that help us operate the app.

• Google Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Storage, and related Google services
• Google Cloud / Gemini services for plant scan and AI analysis features
• Upstash Redis for rate limiting and abuse prevention
• Open-Meteo for place searches and location-based weather features
• AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for ad-supported scanner flows where applicable
• RevenueCat and your app store, when subscriptions are enabled, to process purchases and verify subscription access. Stemwise sends your account identifier for purchase verification; your store handles payment details.

5. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect account, plant, and image data using the security features provided by our hosting and authentication services.

6. Your Choices and Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated app data by using the Delete Account option available in the app settings, or by contacting us using the email below.

Where available, use the in-app Ad privacy choices control to review or change your advertising consent. You can also manage camera, photo, notification, and tracking permissions in your device settings. On iOS, any request for tracking permission is handled through Apple's system prompt; you can decline that request.
